what is the difference between a pillow sham and a pillow cover?
A pillow cover is just a pillow sham with another name. A pillow case is used on a pillow you sleep on and a pillow sham is simply decorative for pillows. Here is the answer I gave to another person here (by the way, it was the Best Answer 
Sure... it's the pillow case, usually with a decorated edge, that matches the bedspread, comforter or duvet. It is usually placed on the top of the bed to complete the look and isn't really used on pillows that are used to sleep on...
